I know as a mother your birth is one of the most important events of your life. I also know that when you are in the moment many of the little details pass by unnoticed to you. Instead of asking your partner or a family member to watch your birth from behind a viewfinder, allow me to free them up to take a more active supporting role in your birth.

You may be wondering about birth photography. This is not medical photography, but journalistic photography capturing the special moments: your partner supporting you through a particularly difficult contraction, your baby's first breath, your tears when you see your baby for the first time, your partner looking on. Please be assured, based on an initial consultation, you will be in control of what sort of photos are taken and I will honor any and all photo requests to the best of my ability. I artistically capture the feelings and relationships of the day, so that you can cherish them forever. Having a birth photographer document your birth on film allows the mother to relive the birth through the photographs, many times giving her a completely different perspective on her birth.
